Christy O’Connor Jnr Wines

During 2008 I embarked on a new venture into the world of wines. I have always enjoyed a good bottle of wine and throughout my years on tour I have had the pleasure of enjoying many different blends and varieties from some of the best vineyards in the world. And so today I am very proud to introduce to you - the Christy O’Connor Jnr collection of wines.

In collaboration with the Herdade das Servas vineyard in the Alentejo, a very famous wine producing region of Portugal and Celebrity Wines, a distributor of golf professional endorsed wines for globally recognised brands such as Gary Player, Arnold Palmer and Nick Faldo we have developed the Christy O’Connor Jnr series of wines.

The first offering includes the Christy O’Connor Jnr – ‘Selection’ – in both red & white. The Selection Red is a blend of some of the very popular local varietals, including Aragones, Alicante Bouschet, Trincadeira and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Dark ruby in colour with a mature red fruit on the nose. A beautiful balanced, well rounded offering with a very fruit forward taste. A wine for most occasions as it will compliment a wide range of dishes.

Similarly the Selection White, a blend of local varietals including Roupeiro and Arinto, is a beautiful light citrus colour. Tropical fruit and hints of honey on the nose. Complex acidity and well-rounded. This delicious white wine will revive memories of those wonderful Mediterranean holidays.

The Private Selection Red is a step up in quality and complexity from the above.
The main varietal in this blend is the Touriga Nacional - the grape varietal that has been used for centuries in some of the finest offerings of Port. It has a deep aroma of mature fruit and hints of orange blossom. A complex and well structured wine with silky, smooth tannins and a long lasting finish.
